With the aim of promoting a bird-watching culture among the population and showcasing the potential of the San Martín region as a birdwatching destination, the Tarapoto Big Day 2023 brought together 81 birdwatchers in the San Martín region on August 19th.
Throughout the day, men, women, and children participated, observing a total of 115 bird species across the 5 established points.
It's important to note that the Specialized Bird Group (Grupo Especializado de Aves - GEA), coordinated by specialized tour guide Warren Pérez, with the support of the Regional Directorate of Foreign Trade and Tourism of San Martín, has been driving actions for the development of this activity. Also, the involvement of the private and public sectors, as well as organized civil society, has contributed to the success of the event.
