Coast Highlands Amazon

One of the reasons why Peru has so many birds is because of its geography. With three well-defined regions, the coast, the highlands and the Peruvian Amazon; and their own climates, soils, flora and fauna, it is easy to understand why this wonderful country is a paradise for birds.

Peru is listed in the top ranking of endemism in the world. This country has highly endemic areas and most of the mountains, valleys and habitat patches can be easily explored.

Each year the number of species discovered in Peru are growing and it is not necessary getting off the beaten path to watch them, in many touristic places, you will be able to do it, too. So grab some binoculars and visit!
